Jio Studios and B62 Studios caused a sensation with the publication of the thrilling teaser for their next action-packed political drama, Article 370. Article 370, directed by National Award-winning Aditya Suhas Jambhale, promises to be an intense narrative, edge-of-your-seat event with several standout performances. The film, which stars Yami Gautam and Priyamani, is set to release on February 23rd, 2024.

Set against the intriguing backdrop of Article 370, the teaser provides a nerve-racking insight into the confidential series of events and astonishing circumstances that resulted in an unprecedented and historic outcome, rendering Article 370 impotent.

Talking about Article 370 According to Yami Gautam, Article 370 is a brave chapter in Indian history. A political-action drama inspired by true events that will provide an in-depth depiction of how intelligence and politics work together to make some of the most significant decisions that determine the course of a nation. I hope the audience enjoys this genre-defining film. Personally, as an actor, this picture allowed me to go into deeper depths of complications and once again play a role that had never been done before.”

Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale says, “Directing a film that covers such an important era in our Indian history is an experience in and of itself. This film strikes an unprecedented balance between politics and action. This film, which was largely shot in Kashmir and Delhi, tells the remarkable narrative of how Article 370 was rendered ineffectual. I am confident that the audience will experience the story’s impact on the same level as we did during its creation.”

Yami, renowned for films including as Badlapur, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Bala, A Thursday, and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, will play an intelligence agent in the film, which revolves around the elimination of terrorism in Kashmir by rendering Article 370 ineffective.

About Article 370

On August 5, 2019, the Central government withdrew Article 370, which granted special status to the former state of Jammu and Kashmir, and divided it into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Article 370 in the Indian constitution gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, a region disputed by India, Pakistan and China. It was drafted by N Gopalaswami Ayyangar, a member of the Constituent Assembly of India, and was added to the constitution as a ‘temporary provision’ in 1949.
