Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg’s highly anticipated cage fight has taken a fascinating turn, transporting us to the splendour of ancient Rome. According to Musk, the fight of the titans will be live-streamed on Meta and X, with the entire frame evoking the aesthetics of ancient Rome. He also revealed that the event would be run by their individual foundations rather than the UFC.
“The fight will be overseen by my and Zuck’s foundations (rather than the UFC).” This platform and Meta will host the livestream. “Everything in the camera frame will be ancient Rome, so there will be nothing modern,” he remarked on X, now known as Twitter.
This unexpected setting alteration comes as a result of Musk’s discussions with Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, both of whom have expressed support for the epic confrontation. Musk’s statement emphasised a respectful tribute to Italy’s rich past and present, with all earnings benefiting veterans, tying the event to a worthy cause. Musk recently released a health update, stating that while his C5/C6 fusion is stable, his right shoulder blade pushing against his ribs necessitates minor surgery.
“On Monday, I spent three hours in an MRI machine.” Bottom line: my C5/C6 fusion is solid, thus this isn’t a concern. However, my right shoulder blade is pushing against my ribs, necessitating minor surgery. It will just take a few months to recover.”
Mark Zuckerberg’s social media updates indicate that he, too, is eager to go toe-to-toe with Musk. He apparently offered an August 26 date, but is still waiting for Musk’s confirmation.
But when did it all start? The back-and-forth began when Musk challenged Zuckerberg in the aftermath of Meta’s Threads launch, with the SpaceX CEO declaring, “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.”
This epic battle stems from Musk’s amusing challenge following the release of Meta’s Threads. Musk’s statements, “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol,” spawned this outlandish story. Musk mentioned his “mega back pain” from a sumo wrestling fight, which added to the plot. This isn’t Musk’s first challenge; he previously challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin to “single combat” over the Ukraine war.
