Erling Haaland is aiming to follow in the footsteps of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo by broadening his financial horizons outside of sports after a stellar season with Manchester City that contributed to their treble-winning campaign.

Erling Haaland wants to trademark his initials in advance of launching a clothing line.
Manchester City’s star is one of the sport’s biggest names, and he’s hoping to secure the letters EBH. The 23-year-old wants to ensure that he has the rights to personalised soap, deodorant, perfume, computer games, mobile phones, smartwatches, jewellery, umbrellas, drink bottles, sunglasses, yoga balls and sweatpants.

Haaland is frequently spotted wearing silk pyjamas and has been linked with his own line, which is set to wear his initials, hence his application. The City striker already owns the rights to his autograph and the lotus goal celebration, which has become a fixture in the Premier League.

In his first season in England, the Norwegian set numerous records. His goal total was the greatest ever in a single campaign, and he also rewrote the history books for goals scored in the shortest length of time, all of which contributed to City’s treble success.

Since completing a high-profile move from Germany to the reigning Premier League winners in 2022, the 23-year-old phenom has left an indelible impact, scoring 71 goals in 75 games.

According to The Sun, Haaland is in the process of trademarking his initials, “EBH,” in order to create his own clothing line. In making this bold move, Haaland will be following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has long been a forerunner in leveraging his brand for commercial success.

Ronaldo, who has a slew of trademarks to his name, including ‘Cristiano Ronaldo,’ ‘CR7,’ ‘Cristianoronaldo,’ and ‘Cristiano Ronaldo Legacy,’ is a good example of a player who has intentionally obtained economic rights to his name.

Haaland is the highest scorer in England once again, though not at the same rate as previous season. Guardiola reportedly stated that observers “want him to fail” after the striker went multiple league games without scoring earlier this season.

“It’s important to have the chances; the people want him to fail,” City’s manager stated. “I’m sorry, but this guy will score goals for the rest of his life.” With his chances, he is a terrifying threat. Players like Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan must be able to find the pass. But he’ll keep scoring till he’s done playing football.”
