However, the cause for the prohibition has not yet been revealed.

According to Girish Johar, a film business specialist and producer, “In a setback, #Fighter has been officially banned for theatrical release across the Middle East.” “Only the UAE will release the film with a PG15 rating!”

While ‘Fighter’ has not received censorship approval in Gulf countries, the airborne action thriller will be released in Indian theatres on January 25th.

Siddharth Anand directed the film, which stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi.

The film is based on the Balakot airstrike carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in the town of Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. In retaliation for a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, an airstrike was carried out against the purported largest camp of terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. The terrorist attack claimed the lives of over 40 CRPF soldiers.

Deepika’s third collaboration with Siddharth Anand after 2008’s Bachna Ae Haseeno and 2023’s hit Pathaan. This is also Siddharth Anand’s third film with Hrithik Roshan. Their debut film, Bang Bang!, cost ₹160 crore and grossed ₹340 crore globally. The film War, their second collaboration, cost ₹150 crore. The film, featuring Tiger Shroff, also grossed  ₹471 crore.

Hrithik Roshan plays Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, also known as Patty. Deepika Padukone will play Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, also known as Minni. Veteran actor Anil Kapoor plays Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh, also known as Rocky.

Siddharth previously stated regarding the film, “Mamta (Siddharth’s wife) and I founded our film company MARFLIX with #FIGHTER.” This picture is ambitious in more ways than one. It’s more than just a film to us. And we’ve given it all to this one. 2024 begins with the same feeling of anxiousness and dread. Here’s hoping you folks show FIGHTER the same love you showered on PATHAAN. Happy New Year, guys! See you at the movies!! “On January 25th.”

A source close to the Fighter team confirmed the update regarding Fighter ban  in Gulf countries other than the UAE. The makers have yet to issue a formal remark on the matter.
