With speculations that Saudi Pro League clubs may make another attempt to sign Mohamed Salah to the Middle East, the Reds could be in need of a new front in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool had turned down a £150 million bid from Al-Ittihad last summer, with rumours claiming that the Saudi club might counter with a £200 million bid.

However, that new offer never materialised, and Salah remained at Anfield, where he was once again in excellent form, producing 16 goals and seven assists in 26 matches across all competitions.

With speculations last summer claiming Salah is open to a move to Saudi Arabia, one answer may be to take the money and try to beat Real Madrid to the signing of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

And, according to the French publication Le Parisien, Liverpool are now the’most credible and dangerous candidate’ to beat Real Madrid to Mbappe, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

According to L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi, Liverpool “have a chance” of signing Kylian Mbappe with no cash necessary.

“Liverpool wanted him when he was playing for Monaco,” Tanzi explained to talkSPORT.

“[Liverpool manager Jurgen] Klopp went to see him, and they negotiated on the plane.”

“There is a relationship between him, Liverpool, and Klopp.” “I believe they have a chance.”

Another story, this time from the Spanish tabloid Nacional, indicates that Mbappe is willing to ‘considerably cut’ his current annual wage of €100 million this summer.

Real Madrid remain the favourites to sign him, with Los Blancos said to have ‘gone on the final attack’ for the Frenchman.

It is ‘too early to presume that he will arrive at the Santiago Bernabéu on June 30’, but Florentino Perez has ‘expedited negotiations with the Paris Saint-Germain player and with his mother and agent, Fayza Lamari, taking advantage of the fact that he is now free to negotiate’ with other teams.

Mbappe, who has 18 goals in 16 Ligue 1 matches this season, ‘wants to start a new adventure’ with his ‘days numbered’ at PSG, and Real Madrid are willing to grant him a six-year contract worth €70 million per year and have’reserved’ the number nine shirt for him.
